Barn Savvy Academy is an online learning platform designed for homesteaders, small farmers, and agricultural enthusiasts who want to share or gain valuable knowledge. We connect experienced individuals (Guides) with eager learners through short, engaging courses on farming, homesteading, and sustainable agriculture.

A Course is a single learning experience that includes structured materials, such as videos, lessons, and resources, along with quizzes or a test to assess understanding.
An Academy is a collection of at least three Courses created by a Guide. It allows learners to dive deeper into a subject by progressing through multiple related Courses under one organized learning hub. Academies provide a structured way to deliver comprehensive education, often with a focus on mastery of a specific topic.

You can request assistance from our Barn Savvy Creatives, who can help you develop your course material.

Anyone with knowledge and experience in homesteading, farming, or related topics can apply to become a Barn Savvy Guide. Whether you’re a seasoned farmer, a passionate hobbyist, or a specialist in a niche area, we welcome you to share your expertise.

We encourage courses on a wide range of homesteading and small farming topics, including but not limited to:

Animal husbandry
Organic gardening
Preserving and food storage
Beekeeping

Not necessarily! While we do look for trainers with practical knowledge and experience, you don’t need formal credentials. If you have valuable insights and skills to share, we encourage you to apply.

Written content (step-by-step guides, tips, and explanations)
Photos and illustrations
Video lessons
Downloadable materials (worksheets, templates, or checklists)
If you’re unsure about formatting, our team can help guide you.

We offer multiple levels of support:
Editorial Assistance: We provide a refine and structure your content for clarity and engagement.
Visual Content: You can access professional photography and illustrations.
Barn Savvy Course Creators Collaboration: If writing or content creation isn’t your strength, you can work with our creative team to develop your materials (this service is free for Barn Savvy Elites, with a fee for others).

We review your submission and assess whether your course idea aligns with Barn Savvy Academy’s mission.
If selected, we will guide you through the course creation process.
Once your course is finalized, we handle the publishing and promotion.

Individuals may be nominated by our team based on their expertise and course quality. If you believe you qualify, you can also apply for Elite status.

A smartphone or camera for video recordings
A computer for writing and uploading content
Basic video editing (if applicable)
If you need help, our team can provide guidance on improving content quality.
